ARE PEOPLE WORRYING

To reflect the situation changing each day and more measures coming into play, the level of concern has increased in the UK compared to the 17th of March.

ARE PEOPLE TAKING PREVENTIVE MEASURES

In line with that, more people are taking measures themselves to prevent infection. Although it’s not everyone who is concerned.

WHAT ARE THE MEASURES MOST PEOPLE ARE TAKING

There are signs that the ‘social distancing’ message is starting to take effect on behaviour. On top of an increase in working from home more, there are increases in avoiding places with a lot of people, putting off buying event tickets & avoiding sport. Washing hands is still the most common measure people are taking.

HOW DO WE FEEL ABOUT THE MEDIA AND THE GOVERNMENT

People are more satisfied with the information coming from the government compared to Tuesday, but there are still very mixed feelings on the measures the government is taking. The words need to be put into action. Impressions of media attention have not changed (perhaps because it is hard for the media to give more attention).

RESEARCH METHOD DVJ INSIGHTS

The sample for this study consists of over 500 people per measurement. This number is large enough for reliable results. In addition, a representative sample by gender and age, education level and region were used. Based on this sampling method, we can state that the results represent the opinion of the United Kingdom as it was at the time of measurement.
