‘Data-Driven Decision Making’ new Brand Growth theme DVJ Insights

DVJ Insights presents the Brand Growth theme for 2021: Data-Driven Decision Making. The platform which supports marketers in realising brand growth, consisting of hundreds of interviews with CMOs, the annual quantitative study among marketers, and the Brand Growth Event which hosted both Mark Ritson and Les Binet in 2020, is celebrating its fifth anniversary. The choice of theme is based on previous Brand Growth editions and various studies with marketing organisations: marketers foresee a major role for data-driven marketing. This edition should provide more insights into the role of data and how it contributes to brand growth.

Ronald Jansen, Consulting Partner DVJ Insights and founder of The Ingredients for Brand Growth: “Five years’ worth of research has taught us a lot about the marketing profession and where it is heading. We have seen that winning marketers focus more on business-related KPIs such as revenue and market share, whereas marketers working in organisations with a loss of revenue use KPIs such as efficiency and loyalty. Real eyeopeners, not just for us, but certainly for markters. Next to that, we noticed that data-driven decision making is seen as one of the most important challenges by many marketers. There seems to be visible friction: on the one hand, more and more automated (marketing) processes are based on data, and on the other hand, there is a movement that brands should become increasingly human. Do they align? We are very curious about the vision of UK marketers and their colleagues in Europe.” Next to marketers, the agency is also involving Research / CI Managers and Data Managers in the interviews and study this year.

All insights from the interviews and the annual Brand Growth Study in the UK, the Netherlands, and Germany, will be shared during the fifth edition of the Brand Growth Event later this year.
