CSR BRAND GROWTH STUDY AMONG MARKETERS AND CONSUMERS FOCUSED ON BANKING

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) isn´t just a buzzword for Dutch banking firms: it is a strategic asset to make a positive societal impact that parallelly elevates brand image and fosters customer loyalty. Research highlights a strong preference for banking companies that actively invest in societal well-being while minimizing their global environmental footprint.

Which banking brands in the Netherlands are perceived as the best in doing good? This is one of the questions from the European CSR Brand Growth Study by DVJ Insights among more than 2,900 marketers from 11 countries and more than 3,000 consumers in Europe, distinguishing successful companies (winners) from less performing ones (losers) concerning CSR’s role in brand growth.

WHAT ARE THE WINNING CSR STRATEGIES?

According to 62% of Dutch marketers, the banking brands that do well for society outperform competitors in investing in society, like in sports or education (62%), and minimising their global footprint (62%). Furthermore, the Dutch banking industry was ranked high in terms of workplace safety (59%) and data privacy and security (58%), outperforming other CSR strategies.

LEADING BANKING COMPANIES IN CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

When marketers and consumers consider banking companies in the Netherlands that do good for society, large banks across the Netherlands are mentioned like Rabobank, ING, and ABN Amro. There are no noticeable distinctions between marketers and consumers.
